Deconstructed American Flag

Hi.

Today I have my first of hopefully a few patriotic nail art posts! It's really simple and I loved the way it came out.

I started with a white base on my index and pinky finger followed by a thin layer of HK Girl Topcoat to dry quickly so I could place the tape. That top coat saved my life I really need to get on top of posting my thoughts on it because it's collecting dust in my drafts.

On my middle and ring I put down two amazing coats of Nails Inc - Baker's Street followed by HK Girl again. Once that dried I took my star hole punch and placed a piece of painter's tape over a scrap of paper to punch out a star. Tip: Putting it over paper before punching out the design gives crisper lines and prevents the sticking and possible tearing of the tape. I then placed it over my blue and filled it in with white and peeled it away immediately.

For my other two fingers I made a V shape with striping tape. I prefer striping over scotch tape because it let's me line up the point of a triangle a little more precise and lessens the chance of peeling up the base, because it's a thin piece of tape as opposed to a thick piece of scotch tape. The red glitter is Kevin! by Powder Perfect.

Hope you enjoyed the look! Nothing gets me creative like holiday nail art :)
