Zoya Sunshine

Hello! I've been so bad at photographing the manicures I have been wearing lately. I'm coming up on my last month of school thank God, but I haven't had much time for blogging! Occasionally I post an iPhone shot on my Instagram so be sure to check me out here if you're wondering where I am!

Anyway, with not much time for nail art I usually slap on a textured polish because I can get a good 3/4 days of wear on it! That is if I'm not scratching like a crack addict to take it off before then.

I have the beautiful Zoya Sunshine gracing my finger nails today. It's a gorgeous denim/navy blue color saturated with silver sparkles! It's almost a one coat nail polish (aka just my type) but I did two out of habit and to ensure longevity.

Now if you're like me and others you're wondering why it's called Sunshine and it's blue. I found this little piece online "Did you think it was odd that the blue was called Sunshine? This is named after Sunshine Outing, the celebrity manicurist who came up with a navy Pixie Dust shade for the Timo Welland Show at NYFW by layering Godiva, Dahlia, and Nyx!"

I can't picture how a nude, black, and silver/gray shade make denim blue but I am loving the result of it! It is 10x more sparkly in person and I highly recommend this shade if you're a fan of texture polishes.

L.A Girl Teal Dimension

Today I've got this swatch of L.A Girl 3D Effects Teal Dimension. I purchased these because they are dupes for the amazing scattered holos Zoyas are known for (Blaze, Aurora, Dream, etc..) but unfortunately they have not gotten with the program and made every color known to man yet.

But L.A girl has a few colors Zoya does not! Like this gorgeous teal! A little sheer but builds great in three thin coats and the holo payoff is amazing. I couldn't stop staring at my hands in the sun. Dare I say better than Zoya?

I've also got the pink L.A girl in a design on this post if you would like to check that out. I definitely recommend these polishes as a great alternative if Zoya is out of your price range. L.A Girl is online or at Rite Aid! Also, Dulcie over at OhThreeOhFour has an amazing comparison posts between Zoya and L.A Girl! I definitely need them all after seeing her amazing swatches.

Chocolate Flowers

I soo wanted to title this How Rei Rei Got Her Groove Back lol. I haven't stamped in the longest time and although this isn't even complicated I really missed it! Nothing like a full stamping manicure to lift the spirits.
Details after the jump!

Zoya - Dream

Wow. Zoya... spot on naming this. This is my second time wearing this and I hate that it took me so long to wear it again! This is definitely going to be in my "I don't know what to wear" pile. There's just so much depth to it, it's gorgeous! Shown below is two coats with HK Girl top coat, but looking at this under bright light I could've gone for a third. But the VNL isn't as noticeable in person. Mmmmm mm!!!

Need more. In every color. There's also this extra photo set on my Instagram and this oldie :)

Polka Dot Jelly

I usually don't blog on Tuesday but here it is! Ah, I've been in such a nail art rut lately but I've got a cute idea for Easter nails so that's around the corner. And school is heading into the last month so I've got that to focus on, so I've only had time for quick manis. My favorite of those quick but cute designs/combinations... the jelly sandwich.

I think this is my all time favorite combinations. 2 coats L'Oreal Berry Jealous, 1 coat of OPI Polka.com and finish it off with 1 more coat of Berry Jealous and top coat.

I love this L'Oreal polish on it's on too. It's such a gorgeous vibrant berry pink and the formula on these is amazing. They had a whole collection of these and I regret not picking up more!

Macro mode washes me out terribly for some reason haha.

What's your go to color/design/cute nail combination?

April: Nail Artist of the Month

Hey all! I have something pretty exciting to share. Alaina from The Little Canvas has asked me to be her April nail artist of the month on her blog! Talk about flattering.

It's a feature she's got running to give artists she loves a chance to show case themselves on her own blog. She asked me to create a little som'n som'n so head on over there and check my post for all the details on this striped water marble and stay a while and read her own posts about all her cute nail art as well!  :)
